I’m gently girded by silence as if by the soft roaring of the far sea, only just touching the rocks. Your voice still sounds in my ears like children’s fingers touch the [mezuza] of the heavy brown oaken door. The soft promise of the entering light of the menorah casts a shadow on the grass. Bees are bathing in the sweet juice of mango; their buzzing is overwhelming just like pain. Pieces of broken glass roll in all directions just like false promises. You’re still embraced by the magic of dreams. At home is everything covered by the holy purity of snow. I’m fleeing before the unreachable tomorrow.
